Again a good news for PMP® Aspirant living in Pune. PMI® has announced its schedule of Paper Based Test popularly known as PBT in Pune for the year 2018. It has scheduled one exam every month in Pune throughout 2018
With this announcement, Pune is one of the very few cities in the world that observe one exam every month. It is continuing for last 2 years. There is no other city in India where PMI hosts PBT for PMP® Certification Exam every month. Other cities get this event once a while.

Last date to enroll is the date before which you must enroll yourself in the exam. To get enrolled in the exam, you must have your application approved.
Therefore if you want to get enrolled in any of the above PBT exams, you should fill the application form, submit it and receive the approval before last date of enrollment. For example – If you want to give PMP® exam on 11th August, 2018, you should have your application approved before 7th July, 2018 to get enrolled.
Once you submit your application, PMI takes around a week to approve it. If your application is selected for audit, then consider around 20 to 30 days to complete audit formalities. In that case you may be able to take your paper based test only next month.
Now the bitter part. PMI® has withdrawn lower fee for PBT. Earlier fee for PBT was $150 less than CBT. Now fee is same irrespective of PBT or CBT
For PBT, you need to enroll at least 35 days in advance. You can only reschedule/cancel 35 days before exam date. Once 35 days count down starts, you cannot change/reschedule/cancel.
In the case of CBT, reschedule/cancelation is more flexible. You can reschedule/cancel 30 days in advance without any fee. Within 30 days, you can reschedule/cancel at a fee of $70 up to 2 days. If only 2 days are left, you cannot cancel/reschedule.
The paper based test (PBT) may save your travel to Mumbai the nearest computer based test (CBT) centre. In case of PBT, PMI® promises to give result in 4 to 6 weeks while it is immediate in case of CBT (Computer Based Test). However most of the people who attempted PBT, got their results in 2 to 3 weeks.
Therefore main advantage of writing a PBT in Pune is saving travel to Mumbai. The disadvantage (If you call it disadvantage) is that you need to wait for couple of weeks for your result.

I have a doubt on PBT.
I am from Pune and want to go for PBT.
However as per PMI reference document it is mentioned if Prometric CBT site is more than 240 km then only we can opt for PBT.So can I apply for PBT in Pune or have only CBT option.

Good question. Actually it is not about you but about PMI. PMI has standard guidelines for having PBT centre at least 250 KM away from CBT Centre. However looking at potential in Pune, PMI has been conducting PBT in Pune despite not meeting the criteria. Not only this, Pune is one of the very few cities where PMI conducts PBT every month otherwise PMI conduct PBT only once a while in any city.
This is for the benefit of people in Pune and nearby area only. So go ahead and schedule your exam for next PBT. There are several people in Pune who have attempted PBT in Pune and are PMP today. You can schedule your PBT without any doubt.
In fact PMI is reviewing its PBT policy and you never know about PBT schedule in 2019.

I have given exam PMP-PBT exam on 3rd Nov 2018, Still I didn’t received exam results. Is it possible to view online result? Normally, within 6-8 weeks result should appear?
